Fundraiser dinner brings in over $9M for Museum's Capital Campaign
The Museum's Capital Campaign fundraising dinner was held on July 21st at the historic Beverly Wilshire Hotel. The event welcomed over 200 guest for dinner and entertainmen including Los Angeles City Council President Herb Wesson, Los Angeles City Council member David Ryu, and Keynote Speaker Ambassador Sung Y. Kim, former Ambassador to South Korea and the current Department of State's Special Representative for North Korea Policy.
Entertainment was provided by notable Korean singer Yoon Do Hyun who surprised the museum with a donation of $10,000 towards the project. Along with the City of Los Angeles' $3.5M commitment towards the museum, which was announced last night by City Council President Herb Wesson, the total funds raised from the event was over $9M!
The Museum Board of Directors would like to thank all the donors and funders who helped us reach this milestone. We are enormously grateful for all the supporters who came out last night to celebrate the kick-off of this monumental effort.
